Q: I have an item that is connected (via action or outlet) to some other items. If I cut (or copy) and then paste it, the connections do not exist anymore. I would like to keep the connections. I can't seem to move the object to a new window by just dragging it.\
\
A: This is not a bug: the connections are supposed to be cut when you cut-and-paste. But there
\i is
\i0 a way to
move an object from a window to another one, or from a menu to another one (together with its submenus) or an item through the hierarchy of views, while keeping the connections intact. Use ``alternate-click,'' then drag; the item will appear to move while leaving a dimmed version of itself in its initial position. If you release the mouse button over a place where the object can be inserted it will be moved there, otherwise it will fly back to its original position. The connections are
\i not
\i0 destroyed.\
\
Interface Builder doesn't implement copy-and-paste with connections, because the user might try to paste the object into another document where the connections have no meaning. \
